EPE PUBLIC LIBRARY PROJECT (One Man One Book)
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
I am writing this appeal note with great joy and excitement that today most of us have attained various heights in our chosen fields of endeavour in life. I can recall clearly with nostalgia the contribution of the Public Library in Epe. (which is close to the recreational ground/Epe Girls High School/General Hospital). At that time, the Library gave us some of us the opportunity to run away from our various homes to keep up with different appointments either meeting girls on a date, playing football, or attending shows etc. However, a large number of us can easily remember the contribution of the library to our careers despite these side attractions.
Regrettably however, a recent visit to the library made me realize the extent to which the Library has been neglected. The Library is virtually empty without books while the walls of the building are begging for re-painting. Like the Yoruba adage that says” odo to ba gagbe orison e, Gbigbe lo ma gbe.” (a river that forget is sources will soon dry up”). Like J. F. Kennedy “And so, my fellow Americans: ask not what your country can do for you - ask what you can do for your country”
In this spirit, I urge all of you, my fellow Epe indigenes that schooled in Epe and have been privileged to use the Epe Public Library to rise to this great cause by donating a book of your choice each to the library. Kindly inscribe your name or the name of the person on whose behalf you are donating and drop at Research and Development, Office of Environmental services, Ministry of Environment Alausa, ikeja, Lagos or call 08028476147. Please I am not soliciting for cash.
This is a good cause which we can use the social net work to achieve. Thank you and God bless you all. God bless Epe Local Government, God bless Lagos State.
Yours
Lasisi Adedoyin K.S. (ladedoyin@yahoo.com)
